Meet the Principal

A photo of Principal David West

David West

For the past 30 years, I have lived just five minutes from North Side High School. As a dedicated member of the community, I have a keen understanding of the profound impact our school has on the neighborhoods and families we serve. As a father of a North Side alum, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of a world-class education and the nurturing influence of a caring community.

I am an honored veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the 82nd Airborne Division. This experience instilled in me a deep sense of pride and loyalty to our country and the community. After my military service, I attended IPFW, where I earned my bachelor's and master's degrees in Secondary Education using my GI Bill. For the past 25 years, I have worked in FWCS as a school administrator, with the last seven years serving as the Principal of North Side High School.

I have been married for over 30 years and have three children. Outside of my responsibilities at North Side, I often spend time at the Coyote Creek Golf Course or tending to my garden at home. Like many parents, a significant part of my life was devoted to attending soccer games, golf matches, and other events in which my children participated. Being a father and husband has been the greatest achievement and blessing I could have ever imagined.
